Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is set to be sidelined for the next fortnight after suffering a leg injury while on international duty with Spain.
According to a Barca statement, Iniesta damaged the adductor muscle in his right leg during last night’s World Cup qualifying win over Georgia and will be out for between “10 to 15 days”.
Barca also announced that full-back Jordi Alba, another member of the Spain side that beat Georgia, has the flu and will undergo further tests on Friday.
Barca play Getafe in the La Liga this weekend before then taking on Spartak Moscow in their opening Champions League group match next Wednesday. Tito Vilanova’s men then face Granada in the league the following weekend.
