Hull City’s summer long search for a center-forward has came to an end with the news that USA striker Jozy Altidore has been loaned to Hull City for the season from Jozy’s Spanish club Villarreal.
Altidore’s problem last season was his lack of playing time after joining Villarreal from the New York Red Bulls in June 2008. After making only two starts and four substitute appearances during the first half of the season, he was loaned to Xerez in the second division on Jan. 30.
If Altidore can get a regular run of games playing for Hull in the Premier League, that can only be good news for the U.S. National team as it aims to qualify in next summer’s World Cup.
