There are multiple reports in Italy that Chelsea are set to pay Juventus €100m for defender Daniele Rugani and striker Gonzalo Higuain, in essence covering Juve’s cost to sign Cristiano Ronaldo!
Chelsea are finally getting set to announce that Maurizio Sarri is replacing Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge and Sarri has an excellent relationship with the former Napoli striker, whose position at Juve with the arrival of CR7 would be under serious threat.
At the moment Higuain agent Nicolas, who is his brother, is spinning the line thatthe ex-Real pair, who spent four years together in La Liga, could make a deadly duo in Turin.
“We are not in talks with Chelsea” he told Sky Sports.
“He [Higuain] wants to respect his contract with Juventus.
“It would be great to see Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo playing together again.”
Former England boss Fabio Capello does not see that happening as he expects Juventus to sell Higuain saying:
“I think Higuain will leave and I think he’s heading towards Chelsea, where Maurizio Sarri is waiting with open arms.”
Sarri also wants Rugani, who worked with him at Empoli. Although Rugani gets precious little playing time in Turin, he is still a very young and promising defender who is expected to be the future of the Italy side.
