Another Chinese side is looking to spend big as Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande are reported to be eying up a €50m bid for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan.
According to the Turkish daily Fanatik state, Guangzhou want to sign the former Atletico Madrid star, and are willing to wait until next summer if needed to complete the deal.
The Chinese club also made an attempt last summer to sign the Turkish international but they were rebuffed by the Barca, who see him as a key part of their future plans.
Turan has scored ten goals for the Catalans this season, behind only Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, but that number is misleading as six of them have came in two games where Turan scored back to back hat-tricks against Gladbach and Hercules.
Turan only joined Barcelona last year but has struggled to adjust to life with the reigning La Liga champions. The 29-year-old is not a first-team regular and is only likely to get game time if players are injured or need to be rested and Guangzhou are hopeful of taking advantage of that by giving Barcelona an offer they cannot refuse.
Considering Barcelona paid €34 million for Turan, the chance to make a profit on Turan will be something that they will have a difficult time turning down.
The Chinese Super League champions, who are managed by Luiz Filipe Scolari, have the likes of Paulinho and former Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez on their books.
