Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has repeated his desire to remain on Roma and not join Antonio Conte’s Italian revolution at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgium international admitted earlier this week that the Blues had made an offer to bring him to Stamford Bridge with talks taking place between two the clubs.
The 28-year-old is one of Conte’s main targets but Nainggolan, who has continued to stress he is happy with the Giallorossi, insists that he plans remain with the Serie A outfit heading into next season.
‘Where do I see myself in the next season? I have always declared openly my will: I’m fine at Roma, I like the city of Roma, that’s where I see myself,’ he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘On the other hand an offer from Chelsea is important, you cannot just avoid taking it into consideration.
‘I have already stated my preferences, now we must see if the club (Roma) will do its part.’
Despite Nainggolan’s comments Chelsea have reportedly tabled a new €35m bid, including bonuses, for the hard tackling midfielder, which has been turned down by Roma.
Unless Eden Hazard can do a hard sell on his Belgium teammate during the EUROS, it looks like Conte will have to move to Plan B.
