Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market again this summer, using the Raheem Sterling to fuel the purchase of seven new players as Brendan Rodgers has once again reaped his squad.
With the news season just days away, Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is pleased with the clubs signings and indicates that the Reds have finished buying:
“We set out a plan with Brendan at the start of the summer, and the objectives the manager wanted to achieve.
“We’ve achieved all of them.
“So we are very pleased with how the summer has gone and it’s been kind to us this year.
“It’s interesting because we don’t do anything differently, but sometimes the cards fall in your favour, and sometimes they don’t.
“But we’re very pleased with the outcome.”
Despite seeing six of their first team squad leave this summer, expect to see more departures from Anfield in the coming weeks as players like Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli have no future at the club.
What do you think of Liverpool’s summer transfer business? Is it enough to get Brendan Rodger’s side into the top four?
