Inter are not yet a one-man team that relies on Mauro Icardi for goals and assist, but they are becoming one as Icardi is developing into one of the best young strikers in Europe. Since signing for Inter in 2013, Icardi he has made 54 appearances, scoring 28 goals over the past two seasons.
This season Inward has almost single handled dragged Inter back into the top six, as his 14 league goals are more than Kovacic, Guarin and Palacio combined.
When Icardi is at his best he is a predator in the penalty box, where 13 of his 14 goals in the league have came from. That is why for long periods of time it appears that he is not involved in the game, and then a half chance appears and he buries it.
Nobody in Serie A has scored more goals this season inside the penalty box than Icardi, and his 14 league goals puts him level with Juventus striker Carlos Tevez as the highest in the Italian league.
His form has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and Inter reportedly turned down a €30 million offer for the striker in January. If he keeps progressing the way that he has the last 18 months, Icardi could be valued at double that in another year or two.
