Chelsea continued their scintillating start to the season by brushing London rivals Tottenham aside with ease at Stamford Bridge.
The Premier League’s leaders brushed aside a poor Spurs side 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to remain six points clear of title rivals Man City who came from behind to win at Sunderland.
It was another convincing performance by Jose Mourinho’s side and Eden Hazard, who hasn’t scored many goals this season, put them one up, when he played a great one-two with Didier Drogba, before smashing the ball past Hugo Lloris from close range.
Then hree minutes later it was 2-0 as Drogba, put through when Oscar and Hazard capitalised on a shocking scuffed Lloris kick, beat Jan Vertonghen before slipping a shot home.
In the second half Chelsea killed the game off as they do so well and added a third when Loic Remy out-muscled Vertonghen before coolly rolling the ball past a wrong-footed Lloris.
At the Stadium of Light, the Premier League’s best player, Sergio Aguero, once again inspired Man City to victory.
Connor Wickham had given Sunderland a shock early lead, but then Aguero put City on his back once again, scoring twice, and providing a superb assist for Stevan Jovetic while Pablo Zabaleta got on the scoresheet with an audacious chip.
At the Emirates it was Alexis Sanchez once more to the rescue as Arsenal overcame a tough Southampton side 1-0.
The Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster was brilliant, and it looked like his heroics had been enough to earn the Saints a draw, but the signing off the summer scored with two minutes to go to give the Gunners all three points.
Finally at Goodison Park, Everton were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw Hull City, Everton went ahead right before halftime when Romelu Lukaku smashed a Kevin Mirallas cut-back beyond Allan McGregor. But Hull fought back and Sone Aluko, a second half substitute, pulled them level on the 60th minute to give Steve Bruce’s side a valuable point.
