Worrying news in the Mirror for Arsenal and England fans that Jack Wilshere will undergo another ankle surgery at the end of the season.
Wilshere is reported to have a nagging problem with the ankle and the surgery will replace a pin inserted into his ankle during the original operation in September 2011.
Wilshere is the heart and sole of the Arsenal midfield, and when he is fully fit, he is the best English midfielder in the Premier League.
The problem he has is that he cannot stay healthy. He has just returned from beening sidelined for five weeks after injuring his other ankle in the Gunners 2-1 defeat at Tottenham last month.
If Wilshere undergoes ankle surgery he will miss England’s friendly matches against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on May 29 and the prestige clash in Brazil on June 2.
But Arsenal fans will not care about the two internationals. They would prefer to get the operation done as soon as the season ends so that Wilshere will have the summer to recover and will be back in time to take part in a full pre-season training programme.
