AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has decided that the Milan players need a week-long training camp to get their season back on track.
After losing to Lazio on Saturday, their fourth defeat in the opening eight games of the season, Galliani went old school on the players and confined them to the Milanello training complex.
However, the Milan vice president is uncertain whether the move will be enough to see the Rossoneri kick-start their campaign ahead of fixtures against Malaga in the Champions League and Genoa in Serie A.
“I assume the responsibility for this action but I do not know whether this measure will help,” Galliani told Sky Italia.
“However, in the meantime, all of the players will be able to think about what is happening right now.”
Massimiliano Allegri’s future as manager has been the subject of intense speculation and Galliani gave him a luke warm vote on confidence saying:
“it’s normal that if the team is not getting results the coach will come under scrutiny”.
Allegri has to wi at least one of these games this week, and possibly both of them if he is to save his job.
