Ezequiel Lavezzi claims to be in the dark when it comes to his proposed move to Paris St Germain, but has thanked Napoli for launching his career.
The Argentine playmaker has been hot property for some time and it has come as no surprise to learn that he is close to completing a big-money switch.
Wealthy French outfit PSG are the ones to have stumped up the cash, with their ambitious owners prepared to dig deep in order to secure the services of world-class performers.
No agreement has been pushed through as yet, though, and Lavezzi says he does not know when the paperwork will be completed.
He is, however, destined to be turning out in Ligue 1 next season and has taken the opportunity to pay tribute to Napoli and the role they have played in moulding him into one of European football’s most sought-after talents.
“I don’t know a lot of details,” Lavezzi told Il Mattino.
“Negotiations are being managed by my agent.
“Naples will always hold a special place in my heart and I have great affection for the people.
“Napoli launched me and gave me a lot of international visibility.”
