Although he has been linked with a summer move to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, Marek Hamsik insists he will not be leaving Napoli this summer for Chelsea, Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain.
Hamsik, who is under contract with Napoli until June 2016 told Italian newspaper Il Mattino.
“My desire is to remain and win with the Napoli jersey”
Basically Hamsik is just reiterating what he told Sky Italia last month when he said:
“I love this jersey. I’ve always said it, I have a further five years left in my contract and I’m very happy here. I have married this project and I want to continue to play here.”
These quotes should put an end to the rumors that Hamsik, who has scored nine goals in 36 league appearances for Napoli, would leave if Napoli failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
Napoli are three points behind Udinese, who hold the last Champions League qualifying spot heading into the final weekend in Serie A. The Naples outfit must beat Siena and hope Udinese lose and Lazio fail to win their respective games in order to finish in the vital third position.
