AC Milan have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Italian international Antonio Nocerino from Palermo for an undisclosed amount. The 26-year-old joins the Rossoneri on a contract until 2016 and is a straight replacement for the Mathieu Flamini who is out 5-6 months with a serious knee injury
A statement on the AC Milan web site said:
“Ac Milan announced that it has acquired the full outright of U.S. Citta di Palermo player, Antonio Nocerino who signed an economic contract until June 30, 2012,” read an official statement at Ac Milan’s official site.
Reports in Italy suggest that included in the deal for Nocerino, Milan gave Palermo half of young player Riccardo Ferreira’s contract.
Big move by the Rossoneri here, who have to be strong favourites to retain their Serie A crown when the Italian season finally gets underway.
