Love him or hate him, David Beckham is still the biggest star in Major League Soccer, at least if yo go by the number of jersey’s sold.
Earlier this week, MLS released the list of the top-selling adidas player jerseys sold via either MLSGear.com, MLSGearCanada.ca, as well as MLS club websites.
And surprise surprise, more people bought a David Beckham jersey between March 10 and September 10 than any other player. Rounding out the top five were Thierry Henry, Landon Donovan, Fredy Montero and Dwayne De Rosario.
No surprise either to see that the LA Galaxy are the most heavily-represented in the top 25, with Becks, Landon, Robbie Keane and Mike Magee all making the list.
Tim Cahill comes in at number 7, and his jersey must be flying of the shelves in New York as the Red Bulls did not sign him until late July. At that pace, he will easily be in the top five by the end of the year.
For you New England Revolution fans, it is great to see that Saer Sene made the list at number 24!
