Paris Saint-Germain’ march to the Ligue 1 title, hit a speed bump on Saturday as they needed a last-minute penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to snatch a 2-2 draw at home to Lorient.
The script was that PSG would simply march through Ligue 1 this season on the way to the title, but Lorient obviously did not read that script as a Maxwell own goal and a Jérémie Aliadière doubled Lorient’s lead moments before the break, gliding in from the left past the static PSG defence and firing in low from the edge of the area.
But that Ibrahimović showed why PSG are paying him so much money as he made it 2-1 with a sweeping volley from the penalty spot after taking Nenê’s deep pass superbly on his chest.
Still PSG seemed destined to lose this game until Grégory Bourillon brought down Blaise Matuidi inside the area, earning himself a red card and gifting Ibrahimović a chance to snatch a point, which he duly took.
Elsewhere, Yoann Gourcuff’s 16th-minute strike earned Olympique Lyonnais a narrow victory at Rennes. Benoît Pedretti struck in the final minute as Lille won 2-1 at Saint-Étienne, while Bordeaux beat Évian TG 3-1 at Parc des Sports for the biggest win of the day.
Meanwhile, title holders Montpellier drew 1-1 at home against Toulouse on Friday night, in a match that featured three red cards.
