Carlos Tevez’s advisor, Kia Joorabchian is quoted in the English newspapers as saying that Tevez will not be sold in the January transfer window:
“We’ve been in negotiations with three big clubs but I don’t think they have reached the figures Manchester City want. Carlos will remain at Man City until the summer. They [City] would like to move him on but only at a certain price.”
Joorabchian was interviewed earlier today on TalkSport and said that Roberto Mancini’s handling of the situation is what caused the at situation to deteriorate the way it did:
“The relationship with Mancini has never been good ever since Mancini came into the football club. After the explosion of that day [the Bayern Munich match], Mancini created an impossible situation. Carlos Tevez served his two-week suspension, he trained with the reserves. Once he had done that Mancini should have re-integrated him with the first team. For two years he was dedicated to the football club, he even went to Italy to get massive treatment on his knee to come back and play in the FA Cup final.”
“You look at the people who are running Manchester City and they are trying very hard to sort out some of the problems from the Bayern Munich match. These are situations where the manager needs to be managing the football club. Mancini has been very clear that he doesn’t want him in the first team. Carlos is going to have to come back, pick up his money and play with the reserves. He’s not that type of player who wants to walk around the club with that hanging over his head though.”
Pure spin from Joorabchian here as he fails to mention that this all started when Tevez refused to come off the bench against Bayern Munich in the Carling Cup. Tevez has never accepted any blame in this matter and then Joorabchian goes on to say that Tevez will be off this summer regardless of what City do:
“This summer will open up a lot of markets. All of the big clubs are looking for players who can play in the Champions League. Carlos Tevez is cup-tied and that creates a big obstacle. You’re spending a lot of money on the transfer and the salary and he can’t play Champions League. You have three-and-a-half months and then you can restructure your team, and buy Carlos, in the summer.”
If you are a Man City what would you do? After going out of the FA and Carling Cups in the last couple of weeks, do you Tevez if you are going to win the title this year?
