Manchester City have reached an agreement to sign Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg according to City manager Roberto Manciniin a deal worth around £30m. For that, City get a young (24) striker who has scored 66 goals in 111 games for Wolfsburg.
“We have an important game at Arsenal coming up and I will speak about him after that,” said Mancini. “We’ve agreed a fee. He’s a good player and all the teams in Europe want him.”
Dzeko’s manager at Wolfsburg is former England boss Steve McClaren and he has no doubt that Dzeko will be a big success at City, telling the Daily Telegraph that:
“He is a goal scorer who gets them with his left foot, his right foot, his head – he can score all types of goals. He is a good buy for them. He’s a good boy but he needs to work harder now he is in the Premier League than he does at present. But he will adjust, no problem. He definitely has something that City miss. He will be ideal for City, especially alongside Carlos Tevez. That will be a very potent partnership.”
